Nineteen-year-old YouTube drummer Tyler Visser achieved an extraordinary musical – and physical – feat by playing Tool’s entire discography in one continuous 7.5-hour take. His mostly clean performance, documented from multiple angles to prove authenticity, showcases impressive endurance and musicianship, despite some inevitable mistakes. “I have definitely gained a greater level of appreciation for the compositional work of Danny Carey and TOOL,” Visser wrote in the video description. “Although I do not do Danny complete justice, being able to move past mistakes is something I learned. While I wish I could go back to fix things, I also feel a sense of accomplishment being able to complete something that was once just an idea.” Meanwhile, Tool continues to work on new material for the follow-up to their 2019 album, Fear Inoculum, and has a handful of upcoming live shows in 2025, including their first Hawaii concerts in nearly 15 years in December.
