AC/DC Weekend

ACDC600

August 22nd & 23rd

Eight-and-a-half months after AC/DC released “Rock or Bust,” the band start their North American tour on Saturday in the Boston suburb of Foxborough, Massachusetts.

The band previewed the tour in April with two performances at the Coachella festival in California and at the Grammy Awards in February.

The last AC/DC tour show in the U.S. was April 17th, 2010, and the line-up was a bit different then.

Rhythm guitarist Malcom Young left the band due to dementia and has been replaced by his nephew Stevie Young. Drummer Chris Slade is back in place of Phil Rudd, who is serving a home detention sentence in New Zealand.

This leg of the tour, which follows a run through Europe, consists of 14 shows, ending September 28th at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. Then the band heads back Down Under for shows in Australia and New Zealand in November and December.

The tour launch gives us a good excuse to play AC/DC double-shots all day Saturday and Sunday, as well as stories behind their music from Angus and Brian.
