Springsteen’s “Tonight Show” Takeover

Bruce Springsteen is back and he took over Jimmy Fallon’s ‘Tonight Show’ November 14th through November 16th. Last Monday he performed Frank Wilson’s “Do I Love You (Indeed I Do)” and followed up with an interview with Fallon.

The Boss discussed several topics including his new album Only the Strong Survive and he corrected the lyrics to the infamously misheard “Thunder Road”. His newest work is a collection of soul music covers, including the Commodores’ “Nightshift”, Ben E. King’s “Don’t Play That Song (You Lied)”, and Jackie Shane’s “Any Other Way”. “My goal is for the modern audience to experience its beauty and joy, just as I have since I first heard it,” Springsteen explained as his reasoning for covering soul music. This is his first collection of covers since April 2006’s We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions.

Springsteen will be back on Jimmy Fallon’s “Tonight Show” Thanksgiving night for a second helping of live performances and will be embarking on his world tour February 1st, 2023.
