ON THIS DATE: AUG 27th, 1967: Beatles Manager Brian Epstein Found Dead

Often referred to as the ‘Fifth Beatle‘ Brian Epstein was the manager of the iconic ‘Fab Four’ since their meeting in 1961, until his death, this day 54 years ago.

His confidence, trust and passion for chasing superstardom was, arguably, one of the most important elements in the meteoric, legendary rise of the Beatles. Along with Brian’s smooth personality, he was dedicated to making the Beatles world-wide sensations and he did just that. Some of his earliest influences on the group included his suggestion to ditch the ‘scruffy’ look and adopt the clean-cut look we were greeted by the Beatles with in the early 60’s.

Epstein was also instrumental in getting the Beatles on stage, in the studio and in front of the universe. His passionate loyalty to the band found him in and out of record companies and studios in London, fighting for their opportunity to be seen and heard early on, and he proved to be one of the best decisions the group would come to make in regards to their popularity.
