(10/24/2009 12:51:18 AM) So take a band like the Kinks. They recorded over 200 songs but only like 5 get any regular airplay..if they are not classic rock then who is? One more thing, why is it that Aerosmith has so many great songs but most of the time all you here is the same ten songs. Where is Sick As A Dog, Seasons Of Wither, SOS (Too Bad), Lightning Strikes, Draw The Line, You See Me Crying...just a handful of some of the best songs ever that never get any just due. |

(9/19/2009 2:43:57 PM) Hey, Adam here, just sending some mail. been listening to 97 rocks since I was still in the womb, and going all the way to the tomb. So for the past 23 years, I've been jamming out to everything on the #1 Rock station in New york. But I have 1 problem. 1 big problem actually. There is alot of great music that doesn't get the play it deserves. Dio, floyd, zepplin, judas priest, etc, etc. I have 1 request, and I'm sure i'm not the only one that feels this way. So, here it goes. Could you play music that IS NOT ON ANY GUITAR HERO OR ROCK BAND GAME, for at least 1 week? because I hear all of these little kids running around screaming that "This song is on guitar hero!!!" when they don't really know the music for what it is. And those songs seem to have the most rotation. I want to jam out to 97 rock, not jam out to songs that I hear kids playing on plastic guitars. That is just how I feel, and alot of my friends feel the same way. Thanks. Adam Bo's |

(9/18/2009 6:21:16 PM) My feelings on the whole survey thing is that it doesn't really make a difference. I call it Ninety Zeppelin Rock for a reason. I honestly cannot tell you the last time I heard Genesis (without someone having to make a pledge to Make A Wish). I used to love listening to the Norton show on my way to work, but now they don't start at 6 a.m. anymore. So I don't get to hear them . As far as the music, you know the saying :familiarity breeds contempt. Or: variety IS the spice of life. You pick. |
