AUDIO: 11 Day Powerplay starts tonight

After breaking the world record for the longest ice hockey game ever played last year in downtown Buffalo, Mike Lesakowski’s very excited to bring the event back to the Harborcenter for the second consecutive year!

However, this year breaking the Guinness Book of World Records is not the goal, as the “Community Shift” is all about bringing people to help raise over $1 million for charity, including Roswell Park, Camp Good Days and Make-a-Wish of WNY!

This year’s game features over 1,500 individual players, with around 40 individual teams that will take the ice over the next 11 days straight.  So instead of 40 men skating round the clock, the 11 day hockey load is spread evenly around the community, from 11 year olds to skaters in their 60’s.

Before he hits the ice tonight, Mike Lesakowski stopped into 97 Rock to explain how anyone can help reach their charity goal, by simply texting $11 to 71777, use the code “11Day” to donate the $11 minimum!
